Newbiggin Bay to Embleton Bay
Sculpture on the Newbiggin Breakwater
Up anchored and left Newbiggin Bay this morning under sail with a steady offshore breeze which soon turned to be dead astern of us. The new wind direction held steady and we Gull Winged for most of the day right to about 500 yards off Embleton bay where it promptly dropped to nothing for an hour or so before blowing off the land again.
We saw our first puffins on the trip today about an hour or so before arriving in Embleton Bay and the remains of the castle in the bay were quite impressive, other than that it was an uneventful steady downwind sail with very little swell to roll us about.
