Just wanted to do a quick update before we leave Hartlepool. The car will be going up for sale soon so we've been doing a lot of driving around and buying little bits for the boat.

We now have a small inflatable boat so we can row ashore when we are anchored out, which we are hoping to try out at the weekend.

Newbiggin Bay looks like a good place for an overnight anchorage on the first night, not much there except a church, a few houses and a small cafe/shop. Amble and Blyth are also a possibilities if the weather isn't suitable to stay in Newbiggin Bay but that would cost more as it would mean staying in a marina.

A Few Thoughts On Hartlepool
I would recommend Hartlepool Marina to anyone who is looking for somewhere just outside the town centre but within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a cinema and other facilities you would expect from a small town. The marina area has a wide selection of places to eat from Indian to Italian. The staff and regulars at the marina are all very friendly and are happy to help or assist if needed.
